In the Netflix thriller 10 Days of a Curious Man, Sadik Adil Ojal, a lawyer-turned-private investigator, gets entangled in a dark and twisted mystery involving Mutena “Muti.”
Muti, a camgirl and social media influencer known by her stage name “Burn This World,” mysteriously vanishes, sparking Sadik’s curiosity.
As Sadik digs deeper, he uncovers secrets, betrayals, and dangerous figures lurking behind her disappearance.
Metelik and Muti’s Plan to Steal from Oner
Metelik and Muti, lovers with dreams of leaving their harsh realities behind, devised a bold plan. Muti, also a part-time sex worker, counted a corrupt civil servant, Oner, among her clients. When she realized how Oner lived extravagantly despite his modest government job, she grew suspicious.
She decided to steal Oner’s laptop, exposing his dealings with Yuksel Zinchirli, a wealthy land developer planning to construct high-rises on government-protected land. Yuksel had bribed Oner to obtain the permits necessary for his project.
Using this sensitive information, Muti and Metelik blackmailed Oner, hoping to secure enough money for a fresh start. But as greed took over, Muti aimed even higher, targeting Yuksel for a second blackmail attempt.
When Yuksel’s men arrived for a cash drop, her accomplice Ahmet, a cunning local figure, stole the bag—setting the deadly events of the film into motion.
Ahmet’s Betrayal and Muti’s Death
Ahmet soon grew frustrated with Muti, demanding his share of the stolen money. After a heated argument, Muti forcefully kicked Ahmet out. Angered, he sought revenge, recruiting a notorious criminal named Sacit to help.
Sacit brutally assaulted Muti and left her body in the bathtub, her death now a chilling reminder of the deadly risks of their plan.
Sadik’s investigation eventually revealed the truth, prompting him to arm Metelik with a weapon to exact revenge on Sacit. Sacit was killed, and Ahmet met his end in a fire set by Sadik’s team, tying up some of the film’s darker storylines.
The Tragic Tale of Sitki and Sermin
In a parallel subplot, Sermin, a dancer desperate to escape her life, married Sitki, a shady land broker. However, her dreams turned into a nightmare as Sitki turned abusive. Sermin conspired with her lover, photographer Nedim, to kill Sitki and frame Sadik.
To set up Sadik, Nedim even planted Sermin’s dog Chico on Sadik’s doorstep, planning to stage photographs of Sermin in Sadik’s bed.
However, the plot unraveled when Sitki discovered Sermin’s affair with his nephew Burak. In a rage, Sitki tried to kill Sermin, but Burak arrived just in time and shot Sitki instead, adding another twist to the tale.
Sadik eventually pieced together the plot, confronting Burak and likely handing the evidence over to authorities, though the movie leaves his fate ambiguous.
Sadik’s New “Marriage” Arrangement with Gulhan
Meanwhile, Sadik’s close friend Gulhan faced her own dilemma: she wanted to adopt her deceased sister’s daughter, Bugul.
As a single woman, Gulhan couldn’t adopt without a spouse, so she turned to Sadik, asking him to be her husband in name only to help with the legal adoption process. In exchange, she offered Sadik her apartment, ensuring he’d be financially secure.
Sadik, mindful of his girlfriend Pinar, decided to consult her. Surprisingly, Pinar agreed, seeing the arrangement as beneficial. With Gulhan’s support, Sadik could continue writing, and Pinar’s education and career prospects would also be looked after by Gulhan.
With the case wrapped up and new family dynamics unfolding, Sadik appears ready to tackle the next chapter in his life. If a sequel follows, it may explore how this “paper marriage” evolves, alongside another complex mystery in Sadik’s life.
