ASUS is making a serious return to the Android tablet market with the new Pad T3201. Rather than launching another budget device, the company has introduced a tablet that focuses on display quality, everyday performance, and thoughtful accessories while keeping pricing competitive.
The ASUS Pad T3201 arrives with a 12.2 inch OLED display, a slim 6.5mm chassis, MediaTek’s Dimensity 8300 processor, and a large 9,000mAh battery. On paper, it checks many of the boxes buyers usually expect from far more expensive tablets.
After spending some time with the device before its India launch, it is clear ASUS has put considerable effort into creating a premium experience instead of simply re entering the category.
Premium design with practical additions
One of the first things you notice is how slim and lightweight the ASUS Pad T3201 feels. Measuring just 6.5mm thick and weighing 523 grams, it is comfortable to hold for long reading sessions, streaming, or gaming.
The rear panel uses fiberglass instead of standard plastic, giving the tablet a cleaner and more refined finish. Metallic silver edges complement the white back panel, creating a design that feels closer to premium flagship tablets than mid range Android alternatives.

OLED display steals the spotlight

It features a 12.2 inch dual layer OLED panel with a 2.8K resolution of 2800 x 1840 pixels, a 144Hz refresh rate, and a 3:2 aspect ratio that works well for both entertainment and productivity.
ASUS claims typical brightness of 600 nits with peak brightness reaching 2,000 nits. That is a specification normally associated with flagship smartphones rather than tablets in this price segment. The extra brightness makes outdoor visibility noticeably better while also improving HDR content.

Connectivity is equally modern with WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and a USB Type C port supporting DisplayPort 1.4 and Power Delivery 3.0.
For multimedia, ASUS has equipped the tablet with four speakers supporting Dolby Atmos. The audio setup delivers impressive clarity for movies, games, and video calls, complementing the high quality OLED display.
Battery life is another strong point. The 9,000mAh battery is expected to comfortably last a full day of mixed usage. When it is time to recharge, the bundled 45W charger can reportedly restore up to 50 percent battery in around 30 minutes.
The tablet also ships with Android 16 and includes ASUS GlideX, allowing users to mirror screens, transfer files, and share notifications across Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS devices.
The camera setup remains functional rather than ambitious. A 13MP rear camera is suitable for scanning documents and occasional photography, while the 5MP front camera supports video calls and face unlock.
Price, availability, and first impressions
The ASUS Pad T3201 starts at Rs 45,990 for the 8GB and 128GB model, while the 8GB and 256GB version is priced at Rs 49,990. Sales begin on 6 August 2026.
For buyers looking for a premium Android tablet without stepping into flagship pricing, ASUS appears to have struck a compelling balance. The combination of an excellent OLED display, capable processor, large battery, expandable storage, bundled protective case, and competitive pricing makes the Pad T3201 one of the most interesting tablet launches in India this year.
