- OnePlus reveals the all-metal Nord 4 with advanced AI features.
- The Nord 4 is the slimmest model yet, featuring a 6.74-inch AMOLED display.
- Other devices include the OnePlus Pad 2, Nord Buds 3 Pro, and Watch 2R.
Ahead of its Summer Launch Event, OnePlus has provided a sneak peek at four new products set to be revealed on July 16.
A major highlight is the upcoming Nord 4, which is pushing boundaries for the company in several exciting ways.
Unibody Aluminum Build
The Nord 4 features a unibody design crafted entirely from aluminum. OnePlus President and COO Kinder Liu shared with DigitalTrends that this metallic form offers “durability, beauty, permanence, and strength.”
The smartphone’s eye-catching look comes from the company’s “Nordtones” color scheme. This two-tone paint job includes a polished metal top and a matte-coated bottom.
Available in three colors—Obsidian Midnight (black), Oasis Green, and Mercurial Silver with a ridged texture—the Nord 4 is designed to impress.
Slimmest Model Yet
At just 7.99mm thick, the Nord 4 is the slimmest model in the Nord lineup. To maintain a lightweight profile, OnePlus rearranged some components.
The camera lenses are now positioned horizontally instead of vertically, allowing for a smaller motherboard and more battery space.
Powerful AI-Boosted Hardware
Under the hood, the Nord 4 is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 chipset, up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and up to 512GB of storage.
The device boasts a range of AI features, led by the Trinity Engine, which fine-tunes performance with various tools. CPU-Vita, for example, can boost the processor’s power when needed or reduce it during idle times.
Many AI features on the Nord 4 are similar to those found on other smartphones like the Pixel 8.
These include AI Audio Summary for transcribing audio files, Note Summary for summarizing emails, and Text Translate for language translation.
A unique feature called AI Linkboost quickly reconnects the phone to mobile networks after losing service.
Top-Notch Display and Camera
The Nord 4 sports a 6.74-inch 1.5K AMOLED display and a 50 MP Sony LYT-600 camera. Additionally, the AquaTouch feature allows interaction with the screen even when it’s wet.
Other New OnePlus Devices
OnePlus is also teasing three other devices. The OnePlus Pad 2, featuring a 12.1-inch touchscreen, comes with its own AI tools, such as Eraser 2.0 for image editing and Scan Document.
The OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro promises significant improvements in sound quality with 12.4mm drivers covering up to 4,000Hz and noise cancellation up to 49 dB.
Lastly, the OnePlus Watch 2R, with a 100-hour battery life and dual-frequency GPS, remains mostly under wraps.
