- Google to unveil Pixel 10 lineup at August 20 event with major AI upgrades.
- New “Camera Coach” and conversational photo editing features rumored.
- Tensor G5 chip to power all Pixel 10 models and foldable device.
- Pixel Watch 4, Pixel Buds 2a, and Buds Pro 2 also expected to be announced.
Google is preparing to unveil the Pixel 10 lineup at its Made by Google 2025 event, set for August 20 at 10 a.m. PT. The announcement comes just weeks before Apple’s anticipated iPhone 17 launch in September, positioning Google to grab attention with its latest hardware and a heavy dose of AI integration.
The company is expected to spotlight new features powered by its Gemini AI platform, building on what it teased at its developer conference earlier this year. A recent promotional video for the Pixel 10 series even poked fun at Apple’s delays in rolling out its own AI features.
Gemini AI Steps Into the Spotlight
One of the most talked-about rumored features is “Camera Coach,” an AI assistant designed to give users real-time photography advice. Using scene recognition, it could suggest optimal angles, lighting adjustments, and framing tips as you shoot.
Another rumored upgrade is conversational photo editing. Instead of manually adjusting settings, users could simply tell Gemini what they want changed, whether that’s brightening a dark photo, removing unwanted objects, or replacing a background entirely.
Google has kept details under wraps, but these enhancements hint at a deeper push toward making AI an everyday part of Pixel photography and editing.
Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL
This year, even the standard Pixel 10 will get a serious hardware boost with a dedicated telephoto lens, a feature previously exclusive to the Pro models. Early leaks showed the triple-lens setup, and Google’s own teasers have confirmed the change.
All three versions, Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL, are expected to run on the new Tensor G5 processor. The chip promises better performance and battery efficiency while unlocking more advanced Gemini AI capabilities.
Design-wise, the phones will likely retain a similar look to the Pixel 9 series. The Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro should feature 6.3-inch displays, while the Pro XL will carry a larger 6.8-inch panel.
Pro models could also see improved image and video quality, along with larger batteries that support faster charging. That change could help narrow the battery life gap between Pixel devices and competing flagships from Apple and Samsung.
Pixel 10 Pro Fold Gets More Durable
Google’s foldable will also get an update. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is rumored to feature a bigger 6.4-inch outer display and an 8-inch inner screen. A redesigned hinge aims to improve durability, and slimmer bezels could give the device a more refined look.
One of the most notable upgrades could be an IP68 rating, making it the first Pixel foldable resistant to both dust and water. The camera system is also expected to see an upgrade, potentially with a 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a telephoto lens offering 5x optical zoom.
Like the rest of the Pixel 10 lineup, the foldable should come with the Tensor G5 chip, enhanced Gemini features, and a boost in battery life.
Color options for the Pixel 10 line may include Moonstone and Jade.
Wearables and Audio Join the Show
The event is likely to include updates to Google’s wearable and audio products. The Pixel Watch 4 is rumored to have a slightly thicker design with smaller bezels and longer battery life. Health features could get a boost, including a more advanced blood oxygen monitoring system.
On the audio side, the Pixel Buds 2a may arrive in colors like Fog Light, Hazel, Iris, and Strawberry, complete with active noise cancellation. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 could debut in a new Sterling finish.
While Google hasn’t confirmed these leaks, the August 20 showcase is expected to set the tone for the company’s AI strategy in hardware, offering a glimpse at how Gemini will power the next generation of its devices.
