Lenovo has announced the integration of AMD EPYC 9005 Series processors and Instinct MI325X accelerators into its ThinkSystem platform.

This new development brings a fresh wave of enhanced performance to the ThinkSystem servers, specifically geared toward AI and enterprise applications.

The upgraded ThinkSystem servers now feature AMD’s latest EPYC 9005 Series processors, which are built on the Zen 5 architecture. With configurations of up to 192 cores and 384 threads, these processors deliver extraordinary computational power for data-intensive workloads.

These chips, which support DDR5 memory and PCIe 5.0, allow high-speed data transfers and improved bandwidth, making them perfect for AI, cloud computing, and data analytics.

Traditional air-cooled systems consume significantly more energy, but Neptune uses an open-loop warm water cooling method that reduces energy usage by up to 40%.

This ensures better thermal management and helps companies reduce operational costs by maintaining higher efficiency. As AI workloads tend to generate considerable heat, the cooling technology helps maintain optimal performance while keeping energy consumption in check.
