Yet as the details continue to drip out, one feature in particular stands out – not because it bends, but because it works seamlessly with your PC.
A Foldable That Works Like a Wireless Monitor
According to a new report from Android Authority, Samsung is bringing its Second Screen feature to the Galaxy Z TriFold.
For anyone who hasn’t used it on a Galaxy tablet, Second Screen essentially turns your device into an additional display for a Windows PC. Extend your desktop, mirror it, or position it as a side panel, all without touching a cable.
It’s easy to see why Samsung chose to bring this capability to the TriFold. When fully opened, the phone stretches out to a roomy 10-inch display.
For context, the 2025 entry-level iPad now ships with an 11-inch screen, yet it obviously can’t fold like this. The TriFold offers a similar footprint while remaining a pocketable device when closed.
The best part is its reliance on Miracast, meaning the link to your PC is completely wireless. From Samsung’s One UI, users simply visit the Connected devices section to activate Second Screen, making the setup almost friction-free.
For mobile professionals, students, and anyone managing multiple apps at once, this alone could justify the TriFold’s expected premium pricing. A portable display you already own is far easier to travel with than a dedicated monitor.
More Than a Foldable
Second Screen isn’t the only power-user feature hiding inside Samsung’s new foldable. The Galaxy Z TriFold is also the first Samsung handset to ship with standalone DeX.
In other words, the phone itself can switch into a desktop-style interface without requiring an external display at all. You get windowed multitasking, widened app layouts, and a more PC-like workflow right on the 10-inch panel.
Samsung is clearly positioning the TriFold as more than a gadget for early adopters. With Extended Mode, users can project their phone’s display to an external monitor for a larger workspace.

A Lesson Apple Should Pay Attention To
Apple is reportedly deep into development on its first foldable iPhone, and features like these should be impossible to ignore. The iPad already supports Sidecar and Stage Manager, which provide alternate-display and desktop-like capabilities.
Bringing that flexibility to a foldable iPhone could dramatically improve its usefulness and soften the sticker shock.
The Galaxy Z TriFold is set to launch in South Korea tomorrow, with a US release planned for the first quarter of 2026. Samsung still hasn’t confirmed pricing or whether the device will reach the UK or Australia, but the feature set suggests this is much more than a flashy folding experiment.
