The latest additions bring Angi, Expedia, Square, and Yelp into the Alexa+ ecosystem. Together, they cover a wide range of common consumer needs, from booking hotels and finding home repair professionals to scheduling salon visits and discovering nearby businesses.

Amazon is clearly aiming to make Alexa+ a single conversational layer that sits on top of the apps people already rely on.

This approach reflects a broader shift in how major tech companies see AI assistants. Instead of competing directly with apps, they are turning assistants into intermediaries that handle tasks across multiple services in one continuous interaction.

What the New Integrations Actually Do

Each of the new partners adds a distinct capability to Alexa+. Expedia enables users to search, compare, and manage hotel bookings through natural language. A traveler can describe preferences such as pet friendly options, location, or dates and receive tailored recommendations without opening a travel app.

Angi brings home services into the mix. Users can request quotes, explore service providers, and move toward scheduling work through conversation rather than forms and filters. Square expands Alexa+ into local commerce and appointments, making it possible to book services like haircuts or wellness visits.

Yelp adds discovery, reviews, and local business context, helping users decide where to go or who to hire.

These services join an existing group of integrations that already includes dining, transportation, ticketing, and personal services. Amazon says early engagement has been particularly strong with home and personal service providers, suggesting that users see value in offloading these small but time consuming tasks to an assistant.

The underlying promise is simplicity. Instead of switching between multiple apps, users describe what they want and refine the request as the assistant responds. It is less about issuing commands and more about having a short conversation that leads to an outcome.

If Alexa+ can handle these reliably, it becomes more embedded in daily life. That, in turn, strengthens Amazon’s ecosystem and keeps users engaged across devices, including TVs, speakers, and future hardware.

Still, adoption is not guaranteed. Users will ultimately decide whether talking to an assistant feels faster and easier than tapping through an app. The next year will be critical in showing whether Alexa+ can move from novelty to habit.
