  • The Samsung Galaxy Watch FE and other Samsung devices are expected to be unveiled on July 10.
  • Rumored to be a budget-friendly version of the Galaxy Watch 4, it may feature slower charging and updated AI capabilities.
  • The wishlist includes a low price, great battery life, solid build quality, multiple sizes and colors, and advanced smart features.

Samsung might soon release a more affordable version of its popular smartwatch, the Samsung Galaxy Watch, with the “FE” (Fan Edition) tag. We’ve gathered all the latest news, leaks, and our own wishlist for this anticipated device.

Launch Date and Price

According to reliable sources, Samsung plans to unveil the Galaxy Watch FE on July 10, during their next Unpacked event. This event is also expected to showcase the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Buds 3, and possibly even the Galaxy Ring.

Price-wise, while we don’t have a confirmed figure, the Galaxy Watch FE is expected to be budget-friendly. It might be based on the Galaxy Watch 4, which currently costs around $199 / £199 / AU$399.

In comparison, the newer Galaxy Watch 6 starts at $239.99 / £259 / AU$549. So, we can expect the Galaxy Watch FE to be priced somewhere between these two.

Leaks and Rumors

So far, leaks about the Galaxy Watch FE have been sparse. One key rumor is that it will have a slower 5W charging speed, less than the Galaxy Watch 6 offers.

Some sources even suggest that Samsung might call it the “Galaxy Watch 4 (2024)” instead of the FE. Despite this, regulatory filings seem to support the FE naming.

The Galaxy Watch 4 has a 1.4-inch Super AMOLED screen, an Exynos W920 processor, 1.5GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage. If the FE is indeed a refreshed version of the Watch 4, we might see some of these specs updated.

Samsung has also hinted that future Galaxy Watches will feature advanced AI capabilities for more personalized health tracking. The Galaxy Watch FE will likely include some of these new features.

Lastly, there are rumors about a high-end “Galaxy Watch Ultra” edition, indicating Samsung’s aim to compete directly with Apple’s smartwatch lineup.

What We Want to See

While we wait for the official announcement, here’s what we hope to see in the Samsung Galaxy Watch FE:

  1. Affordable Price: The main appeal of the Galaxy Watch FE is its affordability. We hope it significantly undercuts the smallest Apple Watch SE 2, which costs $249 / £259 / AU$399. A lower price would make it a compelling choice for budget-conscious buyers.
  2. Great Battery Life: With a potentially slower processor and less vibrant display, the Galaxy Watch FE could offer longer battery life. This would be a major selling point and a reason to choose it over the pricier models.
  3. Solid Build Quality: Despite being cheaper, we want the Galaxy Watch FE to maintain a high build quality. The Galaxy Watch 4’s IP68 water resistance and MIL-STD-810 military standard compliance are features we hope to see carried over to the FE model.
  4. Variety of Options: We’re hoping the Galaxy Watch FE will come in multiple sizes to accommodate different wrist sizes. Additionally, a variety of color options would add to its appeal.
  5. Smart Features: We want the Galaxy Watch FE to include many of the advanced AI features Samsung is developing. Also, it would be great if it comes with the rumored Wear OS 5, making it a smart choice for tech enthusiasts.
