  • Gigabyte’s AI TOP 100E SSDs offer high endurance with up to 219,000 TBW for the 2TB model.
  • Available in 1TB and 2TB capacities, these SSDs are designed for AI training and heavy data processing.
  • The SSDs come with the AI TOP utility to offload processing from VRAM and DRAM, enhancing performance and reducing costs.

Gigabyte has unveiled its latest high-endurance SSDs, the AI TOP 100E series, specifically crafted for demanding tasks like AI training.

These SSDs come in 1TB and 2TB capacities and are housed in a standard M.2 2280 form factor, making them compatible with a wide range of devices.

Unmatched Endurance

What sets the AI TOP 100E series apart is its incredible endurance. The 2TB model, for example, can handle up to 219,000 TBW (Terabytes Written).

This is an astonishing figure compared to typical consumer SSDs, making these drives perfect for tasks that require constant data writing.

The drives also boast a mean time between failure (MTBF) of 1.6 million hours, ensuring long-term reliability.

Performance and Interface

While the AI TOP 100E series uses the PCIe 4.0×4 NVMe 1.4 interface, it may not compete with the latest PCIe 5.0 drives in terms of raw speed.

However, it offers impressive performance, with the 1TB model providing sequential read speeds up to 7,200MB/s and write speeds up to 6,500MB/s.

The 2TB model offers slightly lower speeds, with reads up to 7,000MB/s and writes up to 5,900MB/s. These speeds are more than sufficient for most high-end applications.

Gigabyte’s endurance claim is remarkable: the 2TB drive can write 219,000,000GB at 5.9GB/s continuously for about 1.18 years.

This showcases the drive’s suitability for applications that demand relentless data writing, such as AI model training and large dataset processing.

Innovative AI TOP Utility

A standout feature of these SSDs is the AI TOP utility. This tool allows users to offload the processing of large datasets from VRAM or DRAM to the AI TOP 100E SSD.

This essentially enlarges your memory pool and enhances the capability to fine-tune large AI models.

By doing so, it improves performance and significantly lowers the total cost of ownership (TCO). The AI TOP 100E SSD is promoted as a cost-effective alternative to traditional VRAM and system DRAM, offering better value per gigabyte.

Durability and Warranty

Gigabyte provides a five-year limited warranty on these SSDs, or up to 109,500 TBW for the 1TB model and 219,000 TBW for the 2TB model, whichever comes first.

This warranty underscores the company’s confidence in the durability and longevity of their product.

While the exact pricing and availability details have yet to be announced, the AI TOP 100E series promises to be a game-changer for anyone requiring high-endurance storage solutions.
