Google is gearing up to reveal the Pixel 10 lineup on August 20 at 10 a.m. PT, beating Apple’s iPhone 17 announcement by several weeks. This year’s launch will put artificial intelligence front and center, with Google’s Gemini AI platform taking a starring role.
Beyond AI, fans can expect notable camera upgrades, a new Tensor G5 processor, and incremental design refinements across the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL. Google’s foldable and wearable lines are also set to get fresh updates.
AI Takes the Spotlight
Gemini AI has already made waves with early demonstrations at Google’s developer conference in May. The upcoming Pixel launch will likely showcase deeper, real-world integrations.
One rumored feature, “Camera Coach,” could let Gemini offer real-time photography advice, suggesting better angles, lighting adjustments, and framing tips while you shoot. Another possible addition is conversational photo editing, allowing users to describe what they want changed in a picture, from removing objects to tweaking backgrounds.
Google even poked fun at Apple’s AI rollout in recent promotional videos, hinting at confidence in its own capabilities.
Pixel 10 Camera Upgrade Across the Board
In a major shift, the base Pixel 10 is expected to join the Pro models in featuring a telephoto lens. This marks the first time all versions in the series will have three rear lenses. The upgrade was first spotted in leaked renders, later confirmed by an official Google teaser.
Under the hood, the Tensor G5 chip will replace last year’s Tensor G4, delivering more power efficiency, better AI performance, and smoother multitasking. Design-wise, the new phones will remain close to the Pixel 9 family, but with small refinements.
The Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro are expected to retain a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro XL will stick with its 6.8-inch screen. Pro models may also see improvements in video recording, battery capacity, and charging speed.
Wireless charging could get a boost too. Support for the Qi2 standard would make the Pixel 10 series compatible with magnetic accessories such as chargers, wallets, and mounts. Google may also launch a “Pixelsnap” case with a magnetic ring built into the back.
Color choices for the Pixel 10 could include Moonstone and Jade.
Foldable Gets Stronger and Smarter
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is rumored to bring a larger 6.4-inch cover display and an 8-inch main screen. Slimmer bezels and a reinforced hinge should improve both looks and durability.
An IP68 rating, a first for Google’s foldable, would offer full dust resistance and solid water protection. The foldable should share the same Tensor G5 chip and Gemini AI upgrades as the main Pixel 10 lineup.
Camera rumors point to a 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. Battery life is also expected to get a boost.
Pixel Watch 4 and New Earbuds
Wearables will also take the stage. The Pixel Watch 4 could feature a thicker build for improved battery capacity, smaller bezels, and upgraded health tracking, possibly with improved blood oxygen monitoring.
On the audio side, the Pixel Buds 2a are rumored to launch in four colors: Fog Light, Hazel, Iris, and Strawberry. They’re expected to feature active noise cancellation, making them a more affordable alternative to the flagship Pixel Buds Pro line. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 could arrive in a new Sterling color finish.
The Bigger Picture
With the Pixel 10 series, Google seems set on tightening its grip on AI-driven mobile experiences, aiming to deliver features that feel genuinely useful rather than experimental.
From smarter photography tools to broader wireless charging support, the 2025 lineup appears designed to refine the Pixel brand while challenging its biggest rivals.
