Samsung has officially lifted the curtain on The Freestyle+, a new generation of its portable projector lineup, unveiled just ahead of CES 2026 in Las Vegas.

More than a simple refresh, the Freestyle+ represents a thoughtful evolution of portable display technology, blending smarter artificial intelligence, brighter visuals, and true everyday flexibility into a compact form.

Designed for people who move between spaces rather than settling into one fixed viewing setup, the Freestyle+ is positioned as a screen that adapts to its surroundings rather than demanding the room adapt to it.

Intelligent Projection That Adapts Instantly

At the heart of the Freestyle+ is Samsung’s new AI OptiScreen technology, built to remove the usual friction that comes with portable projection. Instead of manual calibration and repeated adjustments, the projector analyzes its environment in real time and automatically optimizes the image.

The system intelligently corrects image distortion even when projecting onto uneven or unconventional surfaces such as angled walls, curtains, or corners.

Focus is continuously refined as the device moves, ensuring the image remains sharp without interruption. When paired with a compatible screen accessory, the projector automatically fits the image to the display area, eliminating overspill or cropping.

The Freestyle+ also accounts for the color and texture of the projection surface itself. By analyzing wall tones or patterns, it adjusts color output to reduce visual distractions and maintain image clarity.

These refinements make the projector feel less like a technical device and more like a plug and play screen that simply works wherever it is placed.

This experience is further enhanced by Samsung’s Vision AI Companion, which integrates upgraded voice interaction through Bixby alongside AI services from partner platforms. The result is more natural control, smarter recommendations, and smoother interaction with content without breaking immersion.

Portable by Design, Stronger in Performance

Samsung has retained the recognizable cylindrical design that made the original Freestyle stand out, but performance has taken a noticeable step forward. The Freestyle+ delivers 430 ISO Lumens, nearly doubling the brightness of its predecessor. This increase allows content to remain vibrant and engaging in typical living environments rather than only in darkened rooms.

Portability remains central to the design philosophy. The compact form factor makes it easy to carry between rooms or take along for travel and casual gatherings. Its 180 degree rotating body allows projection onto walls, ceilings, floors, or any surface in between without additional mounts or hardware.

Rather than positioning the projector as a niche gadget, Samsung has clearly designed the Freestyle+ for everyday use. It is meant to move naturally through a user’s day, adapting to different rooms, lighting conditions, and viewing angles without friction or compromise.

Entertainment Without Boundaries

The Freestyle+ is built to function as a complete entertainment hub on its own. With direct access to Samsung TV Plus, supported streaming platforms, and Samsung Gaming Hub, users can stream shows, watch live content, or play games without connecting external devices.

Audio performance has also been carefully considered. A built in 360 degree speaker delivers room filling sound that complements the immersive visual experience. For users with compatible Samsung soundbars, Q Symphony enables synchronized playback between devices, creating a fuller and more layered audio environment.

By combining visual intelligence, standalone entertainment access, and immersive sound, the Freestyle+ extends beyond the living room and into spaces where traditional TVs and fixed projectors struggle to fit.

Samsung will showcase the Freestyle+ at CES 2026 from January 6 to 9, with a phased global rollout planned for the first half of the year.
